ISOLAR-GLAS Multipact -A: (For Private Living Areas):

The more extensive the security provisions, the less danger of burglary. Isolar-Glas® Multipact™-A offers three different classes based on type of security needed. The resistance of throw-through glazing is determined by a ball drop test (see drawing)

Three Resistance Classes: In throw-through glazing, each pane has to withstand three times the impact of a 4 kgs. metal ball of 100mm diameter. The pane must not be penetrated by the ball or must not move more than 5mm in the supporting structure. Grading of the individual resistance classes is a result of the drop height of the ball determined in such a manner, that the pertaining impact energy corresponds to that of a heavy item thrown. The drop heights for the resistance classes and glass we offer is given hereunder according to DIN standard as follows:

Resistance Class Ball Drop Height Thickness of Glass (MM) Weight (kg./sqm.) Sound Insulation
A1 3.5mm 9 22 33 dB
A2 6.5mm 10 23 33 dB
A3 9.5mm 11 23 34 dB

* Maximum Dimensions on request. Special Glass with greater sound attenuation properties could be provided, please mention the Sound attenuation value in Decibels (dB). Sound Insulation Level of upto 55 dB could be attained.

Isolar-Glas® Multipact™-B: Breakthrough resistant Glazing
FOR exclusive homes in exposed locations, whole sale and retail shops with expensive window display - jewellery, Videos, Cameras etc.

The test methods of DIN 52290 part (3) presume the severest of all the possible situations. Thereby, an attack performed with an "axe machine" with a 2 kgs. keenly sharpened, Ing-handle Axe, untiringly hitting the tested object with an impact force of 300-350 Nm and a striking speed of 11 to 12.5 mtrs. per second successfully. Here also, the DIN 52290 part (3) specifies the three resistance of classes which is detailed in the chart below alongwith the type of glass offered:

Resistance Class Impact Numbers Weight (kg/sqm) Thickness of Glass
B1 30-50 29 19 mm
B2 51-70 41 24mm
B3 Above 70 38 32mm

Combination with Insulated Glass Available.
